Guests are asked to arrive 20-30 minutes early for a full orientation, hands-on training and ‘glide test.’ Once you’ve experienced Segway of Hawaii’s exclusive, three-step Train-Tour-and-Test process, you will be awarded a Certificate of Competence, complete with your photo.

Things You NEED to Know

Segway will be one of the easiest, safest and fastest activities you’ve ever learned.

Your fee includes admission to all points of interest on the tour.

Safety helmets are a must and are provided at no extra charge.

Your Segway comes cleaned and charged up, ready to glide.

Age: minimum 16 years old

Weight: maximum 280 lbs

An insurance waiver along with a major bank credit card and/or deposit are required as a form of insurance.

Tours are offered in English, but many of our experienced guides speak multiple languages.

Segway of Hawaii embraces the ‘Aloha Spirit,’ offering extreme weather refunds and rain checks. Tours will run as scheduled during Hawaii’s light, ‘pineapple showers,’ so always call us if you’re not sure. We will also try our best to accommodate your special needs whenever possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have enough power to climb hills?
Segway easily rides up steep grades, even at full capacity (plus or minus 300 lbs.).

What happens going downhill?
Segway’s platform stays level and the computer keeps it from speeding.

How safe am I on the Segway?
Segway’s advanced systems create a virtual ‘force field,’ monitoring itself and protecting its rider at all times.

How many miles will I get per charge?
The power-packed lithium batteries last up to 25 miles per charge, plenty for a full day of fun. Additional battery packs can be rented for longer trips.

What happens if the charge runs low?
An indicator dial lets you know immediately, and Segway will recharge if you take it downhill.

What would I feel if the Segway ran over my foot?
Very little. Its low-pressure, tubeless tires are soft and flexible.

What about turning?
It’s all in the wrist. A slight rotation of the handgrip and the computer takes over from there.
